Safety Guidelines & Regulatory Requirements at Donauturm
Please note that these regulations are based on official requirements outlined in the operating permit decree. Therefore, no exceptions can be made.
These rules are in place to ensure the safety of all visitors, especially in the event of a fire or other emergency situation. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!
Dog Owner
Dogs are not permitted on the Danube Tower due to official regulations. Please leave your dog in suitable care at ground level.
Guide dogs and assistance dogs are, of course, welcome.
Strollers
For safety reasons, strollers cannot be transported in the express lifts. Therefore, it is not possible to take strollers to the observation terrace, Turm Café, or Turm Restaurant.
Our staff at the ticket counter will be happy to show you a suitable parking area for strollers on the ground floor.
A practical alternative is to bring a Maxi-Cosi instead.
Open fire and candles
For fire safety reasons, the use of open flames and candles is strictly prohibited throughout the entire Danube Tower.
Smoke-free at the Danube Tower
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the Danube Tower due to official regulations.
Wheelchair user and rollators
Only one person in a wheelchair may be transported per lift cabin up to Exit Level 1 (Observation Terrace). Each wheelchair user must be accompanied by a person who can assist with transport if necessary. A maximum of three wheelchair users may be present on the observation terrace at the same time.
The stairs to the restaurant areas as well as the stairs to the indoor terrace cannot be used with wheelchairs. Therefore, visiting these areas is unfortunately not possible with a wheelchair. If you are able to walk short distances, our staff at the ticket counter will be happy to show you the designated parking area for wheelchairs in the entrance hall.
Rollators cannot be taken into the restaurant or café. However, they can be transported by lift up to 165 m. After that, visitors must be able to walk up or down the stairs on their own. The rollator will then be returned to the ground floor.
The areas on the ground floor are, of course, fully accessible.
Events at the Indoor Terrace
The indoor terrace must remain accessible at all times and may therefore only be visually cordoned off, as it forms part of the escape route and evacuation zone in case of fire or emergency (Turm Restaurant, Turm Café, Central Floor).
In the entire tower head, the use of liquid gas and open flames (e.g. candles, spark candles, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
All furniture and decorative items must comply with flammability class B1 according to ÖNORM B 3800/1 and may only be used if proof of compliance with at least this flammability class can be provided.
