24 January 2024: After an intensive maintenance and modernisation phase from 8 to 23 January 2024, the Danube Tower will reopen its doors to visitors.
November 30, 2023: A welcome update for all visitors to the Donauturm Wien: the 360-degree panoramic rotating mechanism in the Turm Café is back in operation following an extensive technical overhaul. The gearbox, which has served faithfully for almost six decades, has undergone necessary maintenance.
November 24, 2023: Europe’s highest slide has been opened at Vienna’s Danube Tower. Safety is taken care of, the slide has been thoroughly tested by TÜV AUSTRIA with regard to all safety-relevant aspects.
15 November 2023: A new era of thrills begins at the Danube Tower Vienna, in which Wien Holding holds a stake. At today's press conference, Dr Kurt Gollowitzer, Managing Director of Wien Holding GmbH, Danube Tower co-owner Paul Blaguss and Hermann Krammer, Managing Director of Donauturm Wien, opened the "Danube Tower Slide".
9 November 2023: Due to welding work below the Turm Café level, a smouldering fire broke out today at 10.15 a.m. - to explain: the fire brigade was alerted due to the smoke development.
On 18 and 19 October 2023, the "Tag der Lehre XXL" trade fair took place in the Marxhalle, which serves as a bridge between the world of training and the professional world.
6 October 2023: It's time again for a small update on our internal construction work on the Danube Tower. We have made significant progress! The breakthrough and fixing of the slide entrance at an impressive height of 165 metres have been successfully completed!
3 October 2023: A huge work of art hovered over the city by helicopter today and will soon temporarily give the Vienna Danube Tower, in which Wien Holding also has a stake, a new silhouette: The illuminated "Danube Tower Slide" will be installed at a height of 165 metres. As the highest slide in Europe, it will offer visitors to the Danube Tower a spectacular art adventure as a new attraction from mid-November.

From September 11 to 13, 2023, the derailed rotating mechanism of the Turm Café was removed.
